Where Do I Start?

It can be useful to start with an initial consultation. It is a time for you to describe the problems and concerns. I generally ask a lot of questions so I can understand whether I am the right person to help you.

If I can help, and we agree to work together, we will formulate some beginning goals and intentions. We will discuss frequency of meeting, and choose a time and day for our appointments.

If I think another professional might be a better fit for your needs, then I will make the appropriate recommendations so you leave with a good plan to move forward.

How Do I Find The Right Therapist?

The right therapist is one with whom you feel comfortable. The first few sessions can be nerve wracking, but you should feel heard and understood.

The right therapist is one who is equipped to help you with your specific challenges, based on their training and expertise. It is ok to ask about a therapist’s training and experience with your problem.

The right therapist is also a good fit from a scheduling and budgetary perspective. Continuity is important in therapy, so it is important you can attend sessions regularly.

How is Payment Made?

Payment can be made by cash, check or Venmo. If we are working together remotely, I ask that payments be made 24 hours in advance of the session time.

Fees range from $150-$250. Some insurance plans reimburse for behavioral health services. I am happy to help you understand your benefits and provide receipts for reimbursement.

If therapy feels out of your budget, please talk to me about it. When people feel strained financially to pay for therapy, this can cause stress and disrupt their ability to be committed. I want you to be consistent so you can be successful.

Don’t hesitate to share your concerns so we can problem solve together.

Do you have a Cancellation Policy?

I ask that all sessions be cancelled with 24 hour notice or that you be responsible for the session. Thank you for understanding.
